GYM Challenge – Don’t Stop Believing

Congratulations to all our participating residents for reaching the summit of Mount Faber at the GO for Your Mountain [GYM] Challenge 2018! Our residents scaled an inclined route of 0.6km made up of slopes and stairs.

While it may sound like an easy feat for the average person, our residents required extensive exercise and strength training as preparation. After two months worth of training, it was nice to witness them complete the course and enjoy the fruit of their success at the peak. The training sessions were a collaborative effort by Empower Singapore and our Physiotherapy team, PhysioWorks.

And how could our residents attempt this challenge without the ECON family by their side? We took time off that very Saturday morning to cheer our residents on as well as exercise at the same time. Some of our staff even chose to do the more strenuous course of 3.2km. Despite the weather being very hot (most of us were panting and sweating buckets at the summit), it was still a great bonding session for everyone

We hope through this activity, our residents will be inspired to believe in themselves, because you’re never too old to achieve anything you set your heart on. We look forward to more such activities with our ECON family!
